 Infection plugin for L4D2

We are testing the infection plugin from Timocop on L4D2 (currently on alServ2018 and alServ2019)
Some of you may know the plugin from alServ2015.

It was made for L4D and it has still some bugs but we are working on it.

If you get infected:
Use Pills to delay the infection.
Use Medikit to cure the infection.
Buying Full Heal (on the point system servers) should cure the infection now too.

You can get infected with a certain probability by any contact to any zombie, SI or smoker cloud or spit etc.
If your health is low, there is a higher probability to get infected.

If you die of an infection, a SI (or tank or witch) is spawned (currently only L4D SIs are spawned. We will have to adjust it L4D2)

It will be interesting. I had got the infection 1 time for now.  Very Happy

But I have got some doubts. I know that if you use full health, it doesn't work for heal of the infection and you die after 1 minute passed when you got infected. But the question is, how you can be infected?

I mean for example, that if you lost an exact amount of health, then you got the infection. Or that only the special infected can infect you or all the zombies.

And the last question is, when I died by the infection, I turn into an special infected, or only die?

I also have improved the plugin so that full heal should cure the infection now.

It is hard that you have 100 hp , but when hunter pounced to you (Advanced difficulty) then hit you .. You have 75-80 hp "Attention==>Infection<==" and you die -)

oh no...I was dying 3 times with 95-90% health because simple infected hit me and i did not have enough points to buy a first aid kit or pills. this plugin - real absurd,many players die than earn 10 points for pills  No

We are testing the plugin currently.
Config values may have to be adjusted.
Currently every value is on default.
We played yesterday for several hours and there were not so many infections during the time we played.
It was balenced quite well.
So we'll have to collect more info on how the values are working.

Great plugin there albert. Makes the game much more challenging than before , I have to be far more careful about the zombies and be careful that they don't touch me, I like it, although I would like to ask 2 things:

I don't know whether it's possible to force the bots to heal themselves once they get infected because it seems that they are not aware of it and they just die . It would be great if it would be possible to do.
Secondly I guess it would be a great help for players to see who's infected or not. Maybe the infected player should be glowing in Red or if there could be a "Infected" word below the player's name so that we know who should be healed and who shouldn't.

I'm waiting for your reply and hope one of these are at least possible. I guess the second one requires a HUD modification.

The game is hard enough need not be harder.
This plugin all it does is to kill players for no reason.
Just disable it……… please!!!!!

Infection plugin is currently installed only on alSer2018.
If installed on alServ2019, the super tanks are not working anymore.

I played on alServ2018 and the infection plugin works fine. But I saw that has got a little bug.

I wasn't infected and I had 30 hp. Then a tank hit me and incapacitated me. Then I bought a full health and when I lifted, it says that I was infected with 100 hp.

And why if you install the infection plugin on alServ2019, the super tanks plugin doesn't work anymore? It will be a pity. Sad

I've installed another version of the Infection plugin on alServ2019 now.
I got a newer version from Timocop and I have added my modifications to that plugin (red color and health reduction etc.)
After 1 hour coding and testing I hope it works now even with supertanks.
This plugin now displays game instructor hints.
And it currently will spawn a witch or a tank when the player dies.

So that means if I play with 3 newbie players and all of them die, the plugin will spawn 3 tanks or 3 witches or a combination of both ? Lol that's quite a disadvantage if you ask me, especially when the map starts and we have zero points. And where will the tank and witch spawn? Nearby of the dead bodies, or directly on the body of the dead players?
I'm not complaining albert. I respect your work and love the infected plugin, makes the game much harder, and challenging but this spawning tank or witches feature should be deleted from the mod. The normal super tank spawns and normal witches are enough already.(Just my opinion ) . Hope you understand .

It is the same as before.
When player dies because of infection, an infected is spawned at his position.
The default config of the new plugin only has tank or witch configured.
It is just a config value.
Anyway I have plans to spawn exactly the same infected type that has infected the player.
So if hunter infects you, a hunter will be spawned etc.
For now it is only important that the plugin is stable together with supertanks.

The new infection plugin is now installed on both alServ2018 and alServ2019.
The infected list is currently:
hunter,smoker,boomer,spitter,charger,jockey,witch,tank
So when a player dies of an infection a random infected from that list is spawned.

I've changed the settings of the Infection plugin a little bit:

I've disabled the infection chance when revived from incap.
I think it is not very logical to get infected when e.g. incapped by fire or rock by tank etc.

Now the only way to get infected is:
- being hit by zombies (1% chance as before) and
- being hit by special infected (3% chance, before it was 1%)

So when you keep the CI and SI away from you, you should never get infected.

The game with this plugin stop being fun.
If a player uses melee weapon against SI infect almost always ,because it is natural to accept one or two hits.
The game is designed for the player to take hits from CI and SI and this plugin has made the game
unplayable.
You say (So when you keep the CI and SI away from you, you should never get infected)
This is impossible, and i'm not new player.
Please bring back the setup (hit by special infected 1%) or even better disabled this plugin.
It is not just my opinion..

Ok. It is set to 1% now.

Now the only way to get infected is:
- being hit by zombies (1% chance) and
- being hit by special infected (1% chance)
